After getting a sore tail from some long turkey sits on my thermarest Z seat this last month, I'm looking at fhf's field seat. I'm also playing around with the idea of using this in place of my Z seat on an upcoming alpine hunt this fall...I can't really picture how this will behave when used with a backpack though.

Does anyone have experience with a deployable field seat like this attached to a pack? Would this making all walking a PITA?

Haven’t used the FHF folding seat, but did rig a Phoenix Shooting Bags Glassing Pad to my self-made turkey belt using some straps I had. Cinches up nice when walking and can loosen straps quickly when I need to sit or detach all together. Works very nice and is a slick setup overall.

Hey Lycanthorns, did you ever end up getting the FHF folding seat and try to mount it on something other than the FHF belt? I have a marsupial gear belt that I've had for several years and came across the FHF folding seat and had a similar idea as you. Trying to decide if it's worth purchasing to play around with.

I never tried it but I think if its possible to cinch the thing up when walking that it might be nice. I wound up with some other gear changes and pretty much use a switchback sleeping pad for any seating anymore.
