Federal posted a clip on X saying a new cartridge is coming that will be offered in 80 different gun models. Announcement on Jan 7. Any ideas?

Yes, i saw Geissele teased about that on the gram around the black friday timeframe as well. Maybe means they'll be bringing a m700 trigger to market again soon?

What little I saw about the new cartridge hinted at a different "type" of ammo more than just a different cartridge. Be interesting to see what it is.

Do they have any ties to SIG and the bi-metal case tech of the .277 Fury? Utilizing that tech in a cartridge the size of a .280rem with the 80k PSI threshold would give some noticeable juice in a non-magnum case.

Better effort pics. Does not appear to be an sig style hybrid case, unless they are doing something differently

Played around with it just for fun and making some wild guess assumptions on dimensions.

Assuming COAL at 3.34- bullet is a 7mm and case head matches a 280/280ai.

Federal is excellent at "creating" boutique garbage, pushing it for a few months, and then it's dead because nobody gives a flying crap about yet another overkill hunting cartridge sold for $60 per 20.

Let's consider their other failures:
.30 Super Carry
.224 Valkyrie
.327 Federal

Federal can't even stock their own bullets or loaded ammo and haven't been able to for many years. They have no business launching anything.

$60 is cheap compared to the Nosler crap for $100+...outrageous prices on mediocre ammo.
