As cool as a 6 ARC would be, I can’t see them loading “bolt gun only” loads. The limitations of that cartridge in its factory form are the pressure constrains of the AR platform for which it was designed.

I know area 419 is working on dies. According to their latest video it seems like neck tension is a super critical component to making this whole thing work.

The video mentions 1/4 thou and 1/2 thousandths neck tension, rather than 2-4 thou with brass cases.

From what all the media and several people on ig say, the answer is yes, but it needs some special attention given to the neck. M2_collective on ig says he’s loaded a few hundred but doesn’t use any expanding mandrill on the neck. Area 419 stressed that the tolerances of the neck sizing is down to the .0005 +/- .0002 instead of normal brass being around .001-.005.

One other thing that area 419 brought up was that, in their opinion, the peak alloy case actually grips the chamber better than the other high pressure cases currently available. I’m going to assume he’s talking about the NAS3 cases from shell shock tech and the 277 furry cases.

I preordered a box. Whenever it comes in probably Aug-Sep I'll try it out in my Mausingfield since it's got a huge mauser extractor and is made of way harder steel than other actions (53 Rockwell C versus most others are around 44 I think).

I want to know if anyone is shooting the 6.5 creed+peak out of their sig cross? It is a slower gun with its 18" barrel. Its also kinda picky with factory ammo. But if you can gain 100-200+ fps out of what is an already handy compact rifle this would be amazing.

Being monolithic vs 2 piece brass probably helps.

Has anyone seen mention of how much the case capacity has increased? I haven’t heard it mentioned. The only thing that keeps coming up is a 100-300 fps increase with the same bullet.

Total conjecture, but I think any capacity increases are minimal, and probably secondary to thinner walls.

I’m confident the pressure gains are from using faster burning powders.
ie 43gr of Varget or 8208XBR in a Creedmoor with the 153tmk, vs a standard pressure 40gr H4350 with the same bullet.
