Federal 6.5 Backcountry?

It’s going to be 6.5 creedmoor using the peak alloy cases. So essentially what some these niche companies are doing but from federal.

I would guess 308 is also coming.

Lots of things coming in new barrel tech and cases. If this holds, there won’t be a need for a 6.5 PRC. But just speculation of course.

I predict they will move the shoulder forward just far enough that the ammo won't chamber in a 6.5 CM chamber. They probably don't want them loaded in AR10's.

Because most people don't want a 6mm. The 6.5 probably should have been the first one they did. I doubt they stop with the 6.5 though. Just a matter of if they go smaller or bigger on the third one.

Based on the 140 terminal ascent and the 150 speer impact being released this year I'd be willing to bet my last penny it's a 6.5 and PRC ish short barrel concept.

*whispers*

There never was a need for it.

;)
I mean I get what it does, for a very small amount of people who need that extra range. But you’re correct.

I’ve got an associate doing some ammo testing with new casing and barrels, and he’s getting 3100+ out of his 22 inch 6.5 creedmoor. Wild stuff
