Heights and being the focus of attention (dancing, speaking etc) are my worst fears. Flying is fine. Take-offs are a blast. Landing scares the hell out of me tho.

Rattle snakes freak me out.

True story. Few years ago I had an extremely vivid dream of being bitten by a rattler. Full blown nightmare. I wake up and go scouting. On the hike out I’m thinking about the dream. Pass a guy on the trail and we chat for maybe 30 seconds and before I keep walking he says “be careful…lotta big snakes out this year.” Now I’m on full alert. About 45 minutes later I’m glassing down into a draw and walk towards a rock pile, I cautiously peak over the top and see this guy. He didn’t rattle and I was 100% planning on standing on those rocks to get a better angle to glass. I’m very cautious now. Rocks in the morning I’ll just take a slightly longer route around them. Japanese hornets are my nightmare fuel.

Anything around my ears is my weird freak-out.

Watching people on high towers/cliffs without protection makes me look away immediately.

Where do you draw the line between fears, irrational fears, and healthy caution?

Aint much I’m “afraid” of, but i will say avoid being bit by a poisonous snake cause it is a prudent decision. Murder hornet isnt likely to just come murder me, so why fear it?

Ex was stupidly ‘fraid of spiders. A lil tiny spider produced the same results as a tarantula. Irrational fear.

Spilling gas on pants and avoiding a campfire would be a cautionary behavior.

You guys take any snake precautions like gaiters or something during archery antelope in August?
