Not afraid of snakes but am definitely wary of them, especially fishing the Deschutes river for redsides in late spring. For those who don't know, you can't fish the river from a boat, you need to have one foot on land to throw in a line. That means walking through thick brush and weeds up and down the bank line which also has some steep river banks full of rocks. Basically heaven for rattlers.

On the third day of two previously hot and sunny days, that day was overcast and slightly cooler. I got buzzed 5 times and seen at least 4 rattlers walking to fish. Seriously felt there was a snake at every step. I was using my rod as a tapping pole to warn of my presence. I quit at about noon. Had enough as I felt I was just pushing my lunch at that point. Fishing was excellent too!

I’m certainly not as afraid of snakes as I’m afraid of tics. A bad tic bite can ruin your life. For hunters and fishermen, tic bites almost certainly cause more human harm than snake bites.

Used to be more fearless when it came to heights but had a couple scares while roofing. Not real big on snakes or spiders but not going to flee and scream unless it's truly a surprise.

To be honest though nothing gets my heart rate up and the jitters going like trying to talk to an absolutely beautiful woman. Mids and uglies are non-issue but those exceptionally pretty ones just hit different.

I'd say my biggest fear is dancing. As stupid as it sounds, I get the sweats just thinking of getting on a dance floor. Zero rhythm, feel like everyone is laughing at me, and definitely avoid it at all costs. Closely followed by karaoke!
Definitely this. Been trying to overcome it forever
