Got a long flight coming up tomorrow, what are some of your favorite podcast episodes? Doesn’t have to be about hunting.

If you like Meateater, I loved the episode with Miachael Punke. Epidsode 275 The Battle of One Hundred in the Hand. The novel “Ridgeline” that they discuss is a great read. He wrote “The Revenant” as well

Long flight = long podcast

I find Acquired fascinating. Rolex, Costco, Indian premier cricket league… etc. even some like LVMH were interesting.

There’s always Shawn Ryan, Jocko, etc. some of their podcasts with Vietnam SOG guys are crazy!

The first time Micah Fink was on Jocko in 2022, episode 318. I’m not a very loyal Jocko listener, but it’s the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. And that’s coming from a guy who listens to 70+ hours of podcasts a week

If you can somehow find the meateater Christmas episode from a few years back when Matt Rinella was the guest, and he held nothing back telling them what a bunch of D -bag influencers they are. It was fan fuc*ing tastic. Hands down my favorite episode of Meateater

If you’re looking for a good hunting gear podcast I’d listen to Muley Freak. They’ll point you in the right direction.
If you want to learn about elk hunting for the common man and inspiration I’d go with the keep hammering podcast.
For the best hunting tactics, anything involving Ryan Lampers will keep you straight.
Happy to help.

I had to read this twice. Good work my man haha

I’ll have to check out Muley Freaks podcast, I like Cam Hanes every once in a while. Isn’t Ryan Lampers the influencer who recently got in a bunch of trouble?

lol it’s

I’ll check it out, I like Jocko but I’m so over saturated with military stuff I can only listen every once in a while, I think I’ll listen to that meateater episode now, kinda sad how it tore them apart like that but I’m sure matt has some good points

I put the Rolex one in my Queu, the SOG guy podcasts are the best, those dudes are psychos in the best possible way.

Against the odds is a pretty good one. Mini series, 3-5 ~45 minute episodes on crazy survival stories.
Thanks for reminding me about this one, I listened to one last year that was about Elmo Wortman and his family getting shipwrecked in Alaska. Super interesting and well narrated. Another one I like in this genre is Out Alive by Backpacker Magazine (Although they no longer make episodes)

Sorry, I was mostly joking. I will say I’ve enjoyed the podcasts Ryan has done on spring bear hunting. I’ve found value in them.

Pints with Aquinas has some interesting episodes. I’m not catholic but I do enjoy listening to theological conversations from educated people and there are some good ones on it.

If you are into writing or books, Dedicated with Doug Brunt has some entertaining episodes. It’s great to peel back the curtain on writing and the process. Thankfully it is not pretentious ala NPR, but very good.

The Ishi episode of Bear Grease with Clay Newcomb was excellent. Clay is a vastly superior storyteller than rinella and understands how to “get there”. That episode gave me tha feelz. Very good.
