Favorite non-camo hunting pants.

The only holes I have gotten in my wranglers was from welding some broken pipe in my beef pens. Leg got a little close and had some of that hot metal drip on me! 🤬 4 little holes across the top of my knee and I still wear them to the plant all the time. Just another pair in the rotation with all the others wrangler ATG’s. Very hard to beat for $30.

Man, I don't know how you can beat the Kuiu Attack pant for versatility. (Their lighter version isn't bad either.)

They stretch
They have big side opening zips that are almost like wearing shorts on a hot day
They dry fast when wet but you can rinse them in Softshell proof and the rain sheds off of them
They are warm enough on cool days
They wick moisture

The only downside is snags, they start to look a little bit beat up with use

Prana zions
A note on the Prana pants, i ordered some on sale this summer and had to send them back, by which time my coupon expired. I don’t usually wear athletic cut stuff so I didn’t order them. The straight cut are literally straight cut. The bottoms of the legs were really wide and I felt a tripping hazard. But I pretty much only wear Prana for my shorts all summer. I love them.

I3m liking the REI trail made pants lately. Really light but since they don't breath much they stay pretty warm if its chilli. But light enough they don't need to breath to keep you cool if its hot.

I wear 511 cargo pants on 90% of my hunts and all my other outdoor activities. One pair is at least 5 years old and has been sewed up where I got snagged on barbwire, but otherwise they have proven very durable through the desert and scrub of AZ. I need the pockets for all my crap.

I’m a huge fan of the Element Outdoor Adapt and Peak pants. They have held up to everything from west Tx brush, Hawaii lava, New Mexico timber, Arkansas River bottoms and everything in between.

The pocket layouts are exceptional for my use and they are holding up very well.

After that nothing can beat Wrangler 4way stretch outdoor pants for the money.

How do these fit compare to the wranglers?

For me the attacks have more stretch than the wranglers and that, along with the hip vents, make them good for me. I would also wear kutanas in wrangler temps.

That being said, the wranglers definitely have a place.

Went out and bought a pair of the wranglers today. I like them. Not the best pant in the world. The pocket openings are super tiny, can barely get my hand in them. And the left one is smaller than the right. But, for $26, I’m not complaining. I’ll probably buy another pair. Basically the same pant as my $100 simms.

Good note... You're right. They changed the cut about 4 years ago. The slim cuts fit like the originals from 15 years ago, which is what I wear. The "new" straight cut is quite roomy.
