Favorite National Park

We went the last week of July during the week. We went in three days and were at the gate at 530 to 6 each morning and would be on our way out by 2-3 in the afternoon. Old Faithful area was the worst but we had the place to ourself until 9-10, then 11 it really got busy.


Unless you left the park and are going back in, your bottom picture puts you about 2-3 hours too late.

My vote is Black Canyon of the Gunnison…from the bottom. My Brother and I have been packing in and fishing it for the last 37 years. I’m grateful that at 64 I can still do it a couple times a year. It helps to live nearby.

Valcanoes National Park I was able to be there for an eruption back in June of this year.
Yellow Stone was great.
Here is one that is quite different from most National Parks Hot Springs National park. Neat town in Arkansas with lots of history. Of course the historic Bath House Row, great lakes and a really nice horse race track and casino.

We've been to half of the parks. I would put my top 3 as Redwood, Sequoia, and Badlands.

Denali, glacier, rocky mountain, Yellowstone/grand Teton

They are each unique for different reasons. Hiking the Hoodoos of Bryce are like another world. Riding through the North Cascades is phenomenal. The views of ether Glacier or RMNP can’t be duplicated. We’re pretty damn fortunate to have all this here in our country for our enjoyment.

Yosemite.

I spent a large amount of time there in my teens and twenties. Hiking, rock climbing, hanging out by the river watching the valley floor and the rocks above. Following John Muir's footsteps in the high country. I know it's changed, but I can't wait to take my kids there

Too hard to pick, if I had to it’s the Grand Canyon. You can’t go on a 20 day rafting trip in any other NP.

Love Zion, Great Sand Dunes, and Black Canyon as well. Agree that Joshua Tree is mind blowing! Need to get back to Glacier and go to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Crater Lake.

An all water adventure but love It.

They really need to go to a reservation system and limit entry now. U.S. citizens take priority and if you've been recently, you move down the list. They do reservations and quotas in the Boundary Waters.

For the sake of public enjoyment and solitude they need to quit chasing dollars. It has become much like hunting in Wyoming. It's a stinking zoo!

Isle Royale with RMNP as a close second. Done the end- to- end hike on the island several times. Wolves, moose and virtually no people.

Double edged sword.

I hate them all. Too many people, they're overly developed, absolutely not preservation of wilderness, etc etc. I mean.... I friggin bought coffee and could have bought beer down in the bottom of the grand canyon.

However, they attract all the idiots that know nothing of the wilderness and get them interested in protecting our public lands.

My favorites: Yellowstone in late September when there's 20" of snow in the forecast, Olympic national park in September, and Capitol Reef. Top of the list....

Gateway Arch NP and the museum underneath... This is probably the only one I've been to that the crowds don't bother me haha

I'm partial to New River Gorge as its about 2 hours from the house.
Been to roughly 60 parks, historic sites, etc.
Bryce, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Dry Tortugas, Grand Canyon, Gettysburg, Pictured Rocks, were some of my favorites.

I haven’t been to many, but the only one I’ve enjoyed so much and gone back to was Glacier.

Going-to-the-Sun wRoad was closed the first time I went, so I went this August and was able to make it to the top. Saw Rocky Mountain Bighorn, a mountain goat, and got followed by a young grizzly on a trail for about a mile and a half. Definitely isn’t a trip I’ll be forgetting anytime soon and would recommend West Glacier to anyone.
