Favorite Game to Eat

The amount of moose I've personally eaten is probably measurable well into 4 digits (lbs)... Honestly, it's pretty middle of the road. The best I've ever eaten was some yearling Sitka Blacktail from the mid-December beaches of Prince of Wales Sound... You could cut it with a fork. The best that is actually available to the average mortal more than once in a lifetime? Elk.

The deer I have eaten that have a diet of acorns are not worth eating.

Bear from high elevation/mountains is my families favorite followed by elk. Deer is pretty low on my wife and kids list but antelope and cougar are right up there.

Only had moose that friends have shot. I don’t judge off of that because it all depends on how meat is taken care of in the field and I wasn’t there.

The cougar we have eaten was from one my daughter shot ( her first big game animal
if you can believe that) and was amazing. I was quite skeptical at first but it looked just like pork and tasted very similar.

I’ve ate Roosevelt and rocky elk, whitetail and blacktail and mule deer, bear, cougar, pronghorn. like it all but pronghorn has a unique and delicious flavor all it’s own
Id like to try some moose, sheep, and goat someday!

Moose tops the list for me, really enjoy elk. Have eaten oryx and it rivals the moose.

I voted for moose but I killed a white tail at my place in MO this year where all the farmers around my place were growing soy beans. Best tasting white tail ever.
