What are your favorite go to elk diaphragm calls? Something you always have on you. I've been using a Rocky Mountain black magic but haven't tried much else. So far I really like it.

Rocky Mountain raptor and black magic I like. But I also like their florescent orange call because it is visible and a lot easier not to loose out in the woods.

Phelps signature AMP for me for my all around. Use a mixture of AMP calls but always have at least one signature AMP on me in the woods.

I like the Rocky Mountain green (All Star?) for high pitched locating bugles. It's a lighter latex stretched tighter and call really hit those high notes. And then I also have a Phelps AMP white for sweet sounding cow calls; it's heavier latex and under less tension. I can make a pretty crappy but good enough challenge bugle and chuckles with both, but once we find a bull we tend to limit calling to cow calls and raking. Not always but usually.

I only started used a diaphragm call about a year an a half ago. Still need work. I've tried a couple and I like the Phelps AMP grey. I mainly use it for bugles but can do cow calls too. I have the Phelps AMP red or orange, for strictly cow/calf calling.

for what? i don't cow call much, and when i do decide to cow call with a diaphragm, i like the primos cash cow (not sure if they still make it, but you can really drop the volume and make any cow sounds at any volume)

the diaphragm i use the most, is the black phelps amp with the red latex, it's my favorite for bugling, and if i'm just mixing in a couple mews, it is easy to cow call with.... i like the pitch black 2 as well, both are versatile and easy to make all bull sounds

Phelps Amp gray or white are great, Also the Phelps Signature (pink) and Maverick are excellent.

Rocky Mountain Wild Fury. It said it's a collaboration with Kirsty Titus. It's actually the one I can make the best sound with.

I really like the Phelps AMP Grey for an all around diaphragm. I like the Maverick too, but I can make better sounds with the Grey.

The Carltons Brown triple for me. The Native by Carlton Brown triple a close second. I can cow call with them if needed. But I'm more interested in bugling with a mouth reed. The elk seem to be as well ;)
