Anything under 30 bucks. Looking for a good backup to have around. Preferably a non rechargable type.

Get the Black Diamond Spot!

I've been using this model for years (close to 10 maybe)? They've had different versions over the years, but it's consistently a great headlamp.

I just looked and you can get one for 29.99 on Amazon with free shipping (prime members). I've bought them for less then $25 before. I probably own 4 or 5 of them between my family and work.

Another vote for the spot. It replaced a rechargeable Bushnell I had that I also love. It still works and will get some use but I'm really digging the spot

Sam's has had Bushnell rechargable lights on clearance. Two for under $15. Work great for what they are. I keep one in my truck and can charge it in the usb port. Only rechargeable I have but at that price point, they are hard to beat.

Bushnell works great for me. I use them all the time and have about 5 laying around all over the place.

Black diamond Spot. Awesome and bright headlamp. There is a learning curve with all the functions under just one button, but once you figure it, the simplicity is great

Outdoor Pro Gear on Amazon - 29.99 for 1000 lumens at max power. It's my primary since I don't worry about red light.

Its rechargable which might not work for you but I have been using the streamlight bandit for a while and bandit pro that just came out. They are super light weight and easy to throw in a pack/ pocket as a backup.

+1 for the BD Spot. I think I went through 3 low end Petzls in the same amount of time that I’ve had my Spot.
