40.2gr of RL16 with 108 Elite hunters with Peterson brass and cci 200’s shoot 1 hole groups at 100 and dang near touching at 650. 21in barrel at 2925. Cannot beat the accuracy and how well it kills.

H4350 & 105 VLD’s. Checked several powder weights with incremental increases, got over the 42gr mark without issues, & settled in on 42.4 gr. running at just under 3K fps with excellent results/groups (in an underground 100 yard tunnel) . Will punch it on paper outside at distance this Friday to verify.
Verified & punched this load outside on paper yesterday. 0.3-0.4 MOA in a light wind at 100yds, & I managed to hold it to 1 MOA at 400. Workup done. Loading up the rounds today for Wyoming in three weeks. 👍

RL 16 is a new one I tried a few years ago and it has been great Across a wide range of temps. Shooting a max load over 140-145’s

I can now report that the Berger 105 VLD & H4350 combo is bad news for antelope! Caliber’ish size entry & ping pong ball’ish size exit. 👍

Does anyone know what "max book" is supposed to be for RL16 an 103, 105, 108gr eld bullets in the 6mm Creedmoor? The hornady ap shows it at 41.1gr... but that barely brings the powder up to the case shoulder... and unfortunately there aren't any recipes on Alliant's site (but they tend to be at least a grain more powder than what Hornady lists)... for example Alliant's recipes for 6.5creedmoor are 43.8, 43.9 grains RL16 for various 140-142gr projectiles... but hornady only lists up to 42.1gr...

sounds like you have "book max" and are shopping for a higher "book max" :ROFLMAO:
When I've used rl16 with other calibers, it has seemed to be finicky if the case volume isn't more or less full. This seems to align with the charge numbers given by Alliant for 6.5cm, as their recipe is about all I can fit in the case and still get to mag length with a 140.

I will sure see if I can find some N555. Looks like a good option.

I'd still like to figure out what the deal is with these book figures... for example H1000 on the Hodgon website lists 48.2gr max for 6CM... that fills the powder right to the top of the case! And hornady doesn't even list it as an option... but at the max I can get in the case with my seating depth, I get about 2836fps (46.2gr). A smidgen better than the 2830 I get with RL16 at 41.1gr. But H4350 is listed at 41.7gr and 41.6gr on the Hodgon website and Hornady... but that leaves a lot of space left in the case... and velocities in the 2870-2890 range. Great velocities, but SD is high.

But here is what I don't get... hornady says max for 6.5Creed for RL16 is 42.1 and 41.5 for H4350, but for 6CM it's 41.1 for RL16 and 41.7 for H4350... so why a higher powder charge for RL16 with the 6.5creedmoor but lower for 6mm Creed, and the reverse for H4350??

You're giving load manuals too much credit. Unless they are all shot using the same brass/lot, lot of powder, chamber reamer and chambered identically, barrel land/groove specs, primer, and tested with the same amount of barrel wear, the results are going to vary. Even if they did all of those things i would expect results to vary. Look at the max load pressures, they aren't always exactly the same either.

Tested H4350, RL 9 and N555 in mine. Best load with 115 VLDH is 40.7 of H4350 with CCI 200 primer using ADG brass.
Custom Defiance Action with 25" (custom length) Bart #13 bbl, trigger tech, manners, Liberty can, Kahles set up. Runs 2982 fps with 9 SD and 13 ES. Bad Medicine on critters

Try either H4831 or IMR 4831, I don't have the rifle anymore but I remember getting almost 3200fps with a 105 pushing it to the limit. It would easily run 3100 with no pressure signs in the summer.
