Would love to hear some of you guys favorite .300 RUM loads especially if any of you are loading with N570.

I am a died in the wool .300 Win Mag fan boy but picked up a Christensen Arms Custom in .300 Rum. Haven't settled on a bullet weight and since I'm all ready a .30 caliber fanboy, I have a large selection of bullets to work with so what works best for you? I also finally just lucked into 5 pounds of N570, after a long wait, so would be interested in your feelings about using it as well.
I'll use this rifle on whitetails, mulies and elk.

I retired my last 300rum barrel on 200gr Accubonds and RL33.

Just rebarreled and the new pipe is running on N570 and 230gr OTM and GM215M primers, 3130 fps 26" 10 twist barrel.

Running 92 gr of Retumbo with 215 gr VLD’s, GM215M primers and Nosler brass. 26” pipe with 1-10” twist and bullets seated to 3.695” just enough to feed from my HS mag.

I just got a rum as well. I'm looking at imr 8133, retumbo and maybe rl33, looking to shoot 230 Berger's or maybe the 230/250 a tip. If I'm feeling saucy, I might run cutting edge

Wow, I'm running a 30" barrel with a 1-8 twist, using 91.5gr of N570 and only getting 3180fps with 215 berger's.

My load is a 230 Hybrid Target, 89.5 gr N570, CCI250. Bullet seated with a .020" jump.
Velocity is 3060fps out of a 27" 9 twist. I loaded up to 91 gr before I started seeing pressure but this load gave me the lowest E.S. and tightest group.

FWIW, I also tried 8133, Retumbo, and RL33.
8133 was the slowest of these powders (started getting sticky bolt lift at around 3000fps)
RL33 and N570 ran neck and neck velocity wise, but I got the most consistent velocity with 570....

212gn Hornady ELD-X, 89.6gn of Reloader 25 with Federal GMM magnum primers. I will say, however that after taking my first bull at 60 yards this year, I will likely be looking for a new bullet. The ELD-X absolutely disintegrated on the frontal shot at just under 3000fps. I'm sure it would fare better at longer ranges but I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it.

Are you loading rounds into the gun individually? There is no way a bullet seated that close to the lands would fit in my Remington magazine.

If you want you can get a Wyatt's mbe-3 magazine box, they're ony about $35. They're advertised at 3.825" but mine measured 3.840".
They're on sale at Redhawk rifles for $26.

I put a wyatt's box in my 700 action, let's you seat out quite a bit further. My load is 200 gr eldx with 94 gr of Retumbo @ 3280. I've also had good luck with 200 gr partitions with 87.5 gr of 7828.

I've got some 230 Berger's and 230 a tips I'm working on with rl33. I'm not very motivated to shoot load work when it's below zero

Yes one at a time usually. I can get one in the magazine but the tip of the bullet is over the feed ramp and when fired the recoil causes the feed ramp to impact the ballistic tip of the round in the magazine and deforms it.

Yup that’s what I was worried about. Not ideal. I’m not sure I want the time liability of single loading when I’m out west with an $800 tag. Still good info!

No. Not ideal. I haven’t had a problem with it yet, but know it’s a possibility. I’ve hunted mule deer out west with it a few times and whitetail once. I have killed a pile of whitetails with it in the East. I haven’t tried seating them deeper. That’s where I started and found good accuracy and haven’t messed with it since. I don’t reload and shoot near as much as I used to. More focused on archery these days.

I load for five different .300 rums and I only load 200 gr Accubonds either 91.5 gr RL-25 or 95 gr Retumbo both shoot great getting 3175 FPS Retumbo ADG brass Fed primers. I also played with RL 33 and had good accuracy.

I load for 2 different Fierce
2 different Rem 700 CDLs.
1 Remington Sendero.

All shoot great been reloading the Sendero since 1996 or so.
