Favorite .22LR for Hunting

Tikka T1x. Something tikka gets right is a threaded 22 barrel should be 20” or less. I prefer the 16” barrel. CZ, while accurate, they mostly offer 22-24” barrels threaded. It’ll be a walking staff by the time you add a suppressor! IMG_5908.jpeg

CZ455 in a 17hmr if a slaughter needs to happen. Otherwise the 77/22 seems to be the one that gets the nod these days. Though i've a 94/22 thats killed a lot of stuff

I like this one a lot, weight is with 3 fully loaded mags in the stock. Sight is mounted to the barrel so never loses zero with disassembly. SBX barrel shroud is welded at just over 16" total length with suppressor inside.

How do you like that barrel mount for the red dot? I’ve been considering trying it out on mine, I’m just torn between that and ditching the dot for a scope since my astigmatism doesn’t see red dots very crisp.

Well, it's ugly and looks weird but for me I worry about POI change when breaking the rifle down and putting it back together. I didn't ever test it but I can't imagine it's perfect every time. With the barrel mount I don't have to worry about it. I stick the whole thing in my small day pack broken down and don't have to carry it. I have a an astigmatism also and the red starburst sucks.

Yep the starburst sucks, keeping the brightness low helps a bit. What zero distance did you set yours up with?

For rifles, stick with a bolt gun and buy a 16 inch model or chop/thread. My Ruger American medium contour almost hangs with my 457 Varmint and uses the awesome 10/22 mags

Pistol, my favorite is actually a Sig 322. Light, reliable and accurate. Doubles as a trainer for a self defense pistols...much better trigger then my buckmark or Ruger.
