My buddy in Estes texted me yesterday afternoon that a lion killed a hiker on Crosier Mtn outside Estes. That sucks.

Tragic! Has to be one of the worst ways to go.
Tragic! Has to be one of the worst ways to go. Couple this with the lady who got eaten by the great white in Monterey bay last week, it’s been an unlucky time for outdoorswomen in the west.
I'm not sure I'd agree with that. If one does get successfully killed by a mountain lion, its almost certainly over in a matter of seconds from the time the attack is initiated. If given a choice, I'd take death by mtn lion over quite a few other options.
Always a sad deal....I’m going to refrain from labeling it a tragedy until we get more information.

It doesn’t matter how you die, but it sucks to be dead.

Can confirm. Buddy of mine (not colorado ) got killed by a Mt Lion and he said it was actually pretty legit and not bad at all.I'm not sure I'd agree with that.
