Family trip to CO

Oops, wedding is in Bailey. We'll be flying in and renting a car (I think). Ideally we can spend most of our time around where the wedding is so we don't need to spend too $$ on different places to stay

Yes, there is plenty to do within a day drive of Bailey, no need to drive all over the state.

Just a heads up May can be dicey for weather in the front range foothills and mountains. At minimum be sure to rent an all wheel drive car or SUV. I'm about 20 minutes from Bailey and this is a Mothers Day storm from a couple years ago which is pretty common. May flowers.jpgMay snow truck.jpg

Thought I would update this.
We started in Bailey and had fun driving around the town and playing in the creeks, did some small hikes near the cabin we were staying and had a blast. Went up to one of the passes and saw some big horns- awesome. We drove to pikes peak and made it to about 12,500 before they had the road closed, but it was awesome playing in the snow and watching some guys ski down. That same day we went to Garden of the God's, which was pretty cool and easy enough for the kids (crazy busy though). We also got to see some rams there there.
We spent a few hours at red rocks amphitheater and did the dinosaur ridge trail, both very cool (for the kids).
After that we stayed in an off grid cabin outside estes park, the cabin had gorgeous views of Longs peak and all the way to the plains. We did a day in Boulder which was fine (would skip if we went again) but did a great hike to Royal Arch. It was tough for the kids but they did great. We did a day in RMNP and hiked to dream and emerald lake, the hike was mostly in snow and we got to see more backcountry skiers. It was gorgeous but crazy how many tourists come through there, and it wasn't even peak season or great weather. We also spent some time around Estes Park, and I got a few hours of fly fishing in, and had elk crossing the creek while I was fishing which was awesome. I was able to borrow a mountain bike and did some riding around Horsetooth reservoir (super fun) while the family did another hike there. We spent some time in Ft. Collins and flew on back. I k ow I'm probably missing some of the things we did too.
Overall it was an awesome trip, and I know the locals won't want me to say this but if anyone is hiring out there let me know!

Glad you had fun! Would rather have someone like you and your family here than 65% of the current population of Co. you nailed it though. Crazy how busy it is at all times now though.

Couple of fun shots!
