Anyone familiar with these factory seconds?

I know they are Hornady (only 1 6.5mm 147 bullet on the market), but wondering if beings seconds is an aesthetic issue or if they have performance issues? Looking to shoot them longish range

I haven't tried these specifically but I tried some 30 cal 168 HPBT and couldn't tell anything out of the ordinary on the 300 I shot. I know that doesn't help you out much due to different bullet and probably manufacturer but that's my experience with Midway factory seconds.

About 7-15% may have broken tips, the ones in tact seem to shoot fine. At some point I plan to load up the ones with broken tips, just to see if they still shoot lol

I have a box of factory second 147’s. I haven’t found any that were out of the ordinary when compared to the “regular” box of 147 ELD-M’s that I have.

I gave some a shot and figured I’d just use them for plinking if I didn’t like them. Couple of busted tips, decent weights, same length, but the ogives must be messed up because when I loaded them they came out at different oal’s. Hard to see in the picture, but the last row is 147 eldms and the second row is seconds. Didn’t touch the die and the lengths were all different.
