First choice would be a Tikka in .22 creed, 6 creed or 6.5 creed, his choice. Haven't checked EuroOptic lately but I'd start there for a T3x. As much as it pains me to say this a Ruger American gen 2 in the same calibers at around $550 is a lot of gun for the money. Dump what he saves into a quality scope.
