I had my ~3 mo follow-up after my vitrectomy. Vision tested to 20/20 but the guy didn't drop down any further to test 20/15. I think I probably would have been close to it. However, it's still not as clear at distance as my other eye. There's a pretty noticeable difference and prior to the surgery I tested both eyes at 20/10 to 20/15. So I think it's nearly there.
But, she said the eye has likely stabilized about as much as it will so she recommended an optometry appointment to check for astigmatism since my wife's glasses (nearsightedness and astigmatism) make everything crystal clear.
So, results are good. I can't complain. Other than the fact that I had to have an anti VEGf injection in both eyes yesterday and my vitrectomy eye seems extremely slow to come back to regular acuity after. Still pretty blurry more than a few feet away.
Unfortunately, I'll be changing employers, or just be straight up unemployed, probably around August or September and my current health insurance is incredible. I am not looking forward to my bills. I requested a proactive vitrectomy in the other eye while I have this insurance but she declined. I believe she's much smarter than I.
