Just relating my recent EXO experience....
I've had lots of different packs, a couple Kifaru's, some Stone Glaciers and both Exo K2 and K3 ( which my kids still use).
They've all been good packs with a couple SG's getting the most use in recent years.
I finally decided to give the K4 a try and ordered a 5000.
Jake answered my ?'s late it to the evening, I ordered that night, and it shipped the next day.
The communication was amazing with some more follow up instructional emails from them over the next days, up to date tracking and now I have the pack in hand ready to give a work out.
I've always been a fan of the Exo crew but as a business they seem to have really hit their stride and I am happy to support them.

I responded to one of the random emails I got from them about fitment about 3 months after getting my pack, and proceeded to get an actual response from the owner. not spam or a bot.
Those type of things matter too me and I am now a life long exo customer (along with my hunting partner and wife)

Thank you for the support! If you ever need anything down the road, let us know.

Have a great Fourth!

Exo is one of my favorite places to spend money, absolutely great team that builds great products.

They are one of the very, very few companies that I have some brand loyalty to, and after owning a bunch of different packs from several companies, I always have circled back to exo, so I plan on skipping the BS in the future and just stick with exo packs (pretty easy currently with the best pack on the market)

They do a good job and want to maintain what they have, and not get huge or sell, that’s a big deal for the consumer, that means consistency now and in the future

I currently have a K2 and with my long torso, I am looking at trying a K4 for the longer frame. When loaded, I can't keep the load on the shoulders from being painful. Will the longer K4 likely help?

Yes, I have owned every version of EXO packs, and the K4 is the best. It stays in place and doesn't slide down with a heavy load.

This thread popping up just reminded me that my wife needed a pack for her first hunt! So she's getting my old one and I ordered myself a new one :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. My hips are getting THICK and I'm not longer in the SM hip belt category :cautious:

Impossible to say whether the K4 will solve your problem. Shoulder pain means you're not getting proper load transfer to your pelvis, which results in slippage. Slippage is caused chiefly by an ill-fitting frame.

I don't have a K2 so I don't know what kind of frame it uses, but generally the solution is to get 7075-series aluminum stays, bend them to the profile of your spine, and put them into the frame instead of the rigid stock stays. That should help quite a bit for starters. Cutting down the lumbar pad is often beneficial too.

Yes, the belt is much better(biggger, wider, more padded) on the k4 for sucking into hips and transferring load. Also the shoulder strap torso attachment to the frame, is set it and forget it. it won’t ever slip like k2 did. The only down side for me is the K4 is more rigid and does not flex with body as much as the K2(which is more comfortable with lighter load, but more taxing with heavy.). Over all the K4 is my favorite but if you had the k3 with newer belt I’d say you probably not see a huge upgrade other then convenience factors, unless you had a very long or very short torso, as k4 has more frame size options
