I’ve had my exo k4 3600 for a week now and just wanted thank you to Steve for all your hard work and dedication to building this system. It’s really shines through in every aspect of this pack frame👍 the bar hasn’t been set, it’s been shattered. Keep up the good work

Not quite a final version, I am still debating a few of the pocket layouts but this is where it's at right now.

Capacity is right around 2200 ci.

Basically I took an 1800 extended the main horseshoe zipper up higher to allow room for a built in lid / pocket. I made the pocket padded and it will fit 18x56's perfectly.

Right now I have large internally pleated spotting scope pockets on both sides. I am debating just putting it on one side to shave some weight off of it. IMG_7927.jpegIMG_7919.jpegIMG_7923.jpegIMG_7925.jpeg

What do you guys think?

I like the dual side pockets and especially like the binocular pocket up top. I wouldn't be heartbroken if there was only one side pocket, but would prefer two for what I expect is only a few ounce weight penalty.

I say go with two pockets. It already has features that add weight (horseshoe zip, padded lid pocket) and just one pocket would feel like a design compromise.

Personally I don't mind asymmetric packs, and being a gram counter my first instinct is to say go with just one side pocket. But, the reality is I will probably just get a 3600 and not use a lid for a 1-3 day pack as that will also get me out to 7 days if needed.

i like the 2 side pockets on the K3 1800 , keep my fold up leki trekking poles in one when not using them so keep both.
i would like a smaller top pocket, biased since i dont have any binos that big and the ones i use are on my chest. I think it looks like it sticks up too high for a day pack size pack for ducking under deadfall, branches ,etc . A much smaller, lower profile pocket for a few items there would be fine.

The reason I went with the 3600 over the 5000 was because I didn't want the horseshoe zip on that pack. On the day pack I prefer the horseshoe design because I won't be using a lid with that setup. I like what I see! I'm not sure what the internal organization looks like on this but if you can unzip just the top part down to the first strap and it opens to a pocket on the backside like my Kifaru Shape Charge I can see that being an exceptional day pack. I'd prefer two side zips as most have said. I can go either way on the top bino pocket. I don't currently own 18 power binos so it looks overkill to me but I'm sure I'd find a use for the easy access space. I'd probably prefer it be a bit smaller but I can see the purpose behind it.

Get rid of the bino pocket and keep it low profile. I’d say 90% +/- of hunters carry there binos on their chest and not in the pack. Only Time I may put binos in a pack is when packing an animal out. Just my 2 cents. Other than that looks awesome.
