Exo Mountain K4?

I ordered a K4/3600 at the WHCE, should be here tomorrow. I loved the feel and way it sat on me. I'm looking forward to comparing it to the ARK I got last year (and probably the Duplex Lt I still have). I like the Ark well enough, but something just seemed off with it. I have a sneaking suspicion at least one of the Kifaru frames will get sold.

I put on the K4 at the hunting show in SLC. I really liked it, I think they had 50# in it total.

What's the chances in the K4 lineup to see a pack between the 5000 and 7200 like a 6000 in the future?

Probably not good, curious your thoughts to why it would matter? those two bags 5k and 7200 are only 2oz apart in weight and almost pack down to the same size when not full.

Except for accessing the lid only, I felt like I had to take the pack apart to access any other part of the pack. ..and then put it back together. I don't have enough use on it yet to have an opinion, but initially I definitely notice some interference in the K4 over the layout of the K2. I'm optimistic that I'll learn to love it, because I do like the concept of my spotting scope being completely enclosed in it's own pocket. I feel like it will probably be much less noticeable when it's loaded up for a bigger trip.

same issue on the 7200. every pocket requires different straps to be undone to access - ultimately caused me to sell mine off. I loved the frame, hoping the S2H bag is a big upgrade.

Is the S2H bag supposed to fit the K4 frame or does it have its own frame?

It will be a "K4" bag and 100% compatible with the K4 frame. There will be options to buy the S2H bag only (if you own a K4), or to buy a complete K4 System with the S2H bag.

We'll share more on specifics (timing, pricing, etc) when we can, but it is too early for that.

A group buy on a K4 system would be pretty sweet (S2H bag or not). I know I'm seriously looking into buying a new pack before this season and I'm sure there are others who would be interested.

Bought the K4 2200 system a couple years ago before a NM elk hunt. Used on that hunt and a Nebraska elk hunt last year. It's basically a day pack as I'm sure others have said. Super nice to carry your gear, snacks, and haul meat.

Bro 100% and a much better stretchy pocket for raingear and a wet tent fly to go into

It will be a "K4" bag and 100% compatible with the K4 frame. There will be options to buy the S2H bag only (if you own a K4), or to buy a complete K4 System with the S2H bag.

Exo Mountain appears to have the best frames on the market. I have been hugely bummed as the two sizes I would be most interested in - 7200 and 3600 (as my expedition and large day pack) - have the side zipper instead of the horseshoe, which is a deal breaker for me, and the 2200 and 5000 - which have the horseshoe - are each too small for my needs. Hoping the K5, whenever it comes out, will default to all horseshoes like Initial Ascent and Stone Glacier. I did call to see if custom work was possible, but no dice

The RS bag and the 2200 might fit your needs better. I’m glad the 3600 is a roll top, because without a lid, it’s extremely low profile in the brush, less sticking up than the 2200… probably not much of a consideration for most, but it matters on the coast.

The 2200 is a great day pack, but I will be sticking to the 3600 bag for archery elk because it’s so low profile, and will pack the lid in the bag for organization

I agree on all accounts. My goto is the K3 3200 w/o lid. Super low profile. And quick access items I put in the bladder compartment (treat it like I would a lid).

Sorry, I am confused - Rockslide is making a bag that fits on the K4 frame? Or Rockslide is coming with a whole new frame and pack?
