EXO K4 Now or Wait for the EXO K4X

I know this is probably just a me problem, but I'm going to have to order the rifle carrier and figure out how to die it black or grey.
I’ve dyed a bunch of things black or whatever color you want. Just get the “Rit” fabric dye and have at it. Follow the instructions. Part of that includes almost boiling the water. Warning is if it involves plastic in the item you are going to dye, be cautious as it could warp it.

For me, on my K4 original, the stone glacier lower and kifaru universal upper was the money for carrying my rifle, when I didn’t just strap it to my pack. May be worth a look. I’m hoping I can do the same on the K4x.

I just used one of my K4 packs with the 5000 bag last weekend and remembered why I only want to run the 3600 bag for everything. Ordered the K4X with the smaller bag. Green K4 5000 bag and frame for sale and cant post in the classifieds yet if anyone is interested.

Missed that message among the chaos.

There isn't a tested weight limit to the hipbelt. And honestly, I'd be more concerned with fit/comfort/performance of heavy items hanging from the hipbelt MOLLE, well before I'd be concerned with the structure of the MOLLE panel itself. The rear, single-row MOLLE is reinforced internally to provide structure that connects to the frame and helps distribute load, but the front MOLLE (for the hipbelt pouch) is not meant to be load-bearing from a comfort/peformance perspective. It will be fine to use, though, if you're thinking of running a bow hook and hanging your bow there for periods of time.

Stays can be trimmed the same way, but there is a point when trimming 25" stays shorter than you also need to cut the frame upper or move to a "short" frame upper (the upper we use with 22" and 23.5" stays). For this proto phase, we have not built short frame uppers.

Snuck in my order yesterday, excited to see what all the fuss is about. I’ve packed probably 20 animals in my Duplex Lite over the last 4-5 years across CO/WY/AZ/NM.
