EXO K4 Now or Wait for the EXO K4X

The new aluula composite fabrics coming out look promising. I’m super curious to hear what fabric Steve decided was the right combo of lightweight and durable.

I am confident the wait - whatever that ends up being - will be well worth it. I don’t think there’s anyone else out there that puts even a remotely close amount of time and effort into pack development as Steve. And it wasn't exactly a press release about the k4x - just an update on their activities. The delay to 2027 was unexpected due to the fully custom components they are developing for the pack.

What about fabric noise in the brush from the K4X? I read most of this thread, but didn't see it mentioned. I often hunt very thick country and this is important to me. Anyone know how it'll compare?

Exo is not going to be putting out garbage, based on their history it will be well tested and implemented.

Also if they are using a fabric similar to the stone glacier terminus bags, it will be more durable then 500d pack cloth from my experience.

SG’s terminus fabric is the best pack fabric I’ve used, and wish they made a bag for their Krux with it, as it’s a huge pain in ass to get a bear rug into it

If exo’s fabric is comparable and they keep it with load shelf and exchangeable bags it’s going to be very good.
I have no doubt that EXO would put out anything but top notch. They never have and when they had an issue they took care of it amazingly well.

I am more of the person that likes shiny new things and not the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type. I more want this pack because it's new, not because my packs don't work really well. I am sure the material is good, but I still want to see how it does in the field. if even just reviews by their testers.

I just received a hiking bag in Aluula. Durston Wapta 30 is what it's called. Going to be taking it out in our terrain here real soon. We shall see how it holds up.
