EXO K4 Now or Wait for the EXO K4X

Anyone else on the fence about buying a new K4 now or waiting for the new K4X to come out next year? I just sold my K3 that I absolutely loved but I was one of the few that was a victim of pack slip or I would’ve kept it. I can’t decide if I want to get the K4 during their Black Friday sale this year or just wait for the new K4X

I never used too, but in my old age I definitely don’t mind stuff being lighter. Haha

I file mine down so I can use it as a tent stake. Saves me close to an ounce.

I’m in the same boat. I’m currently using a 6400 k3 and I just don’t have enough space for 10 day self supported sheep hunts. Looks like the new k4x has a k3 configuration which I prefer. Hoping they’ll have a 7200 bag option.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I had plus the 3200 bag. I tried the extra lumbar kit with more shims and could not make the thing stay up with weight over 40lbs. Sounds like the only option for it currently is a 4000 bag based on Steve’s moose hunting gear video the other day. I didn’t hear about the K3 bag compatibility though, so maybe you know more than I do about it. Lol

Exact same position. I’m leaning towards waiting for the K4X right now. Hoping it’s available for the Western Hunt Expo. I don’t buy packs very often, I’d rather get the one I really want and 2 lbs lighter is worth it to me.

exo posted a photo on their instagram. It looks to me at least like a k3 configuration with the front stretch pocket and side pockets. And yeah I think it’s only k4 compatible which probably isn’t a bad thing.

I agree and in the video he said it’s significantly more water resistant as well which will help out a lot. I’ve got about a month and a half to think about it. Once the Black Friday sale hits I might not be able to stop myself from getting the K4. Right now I’m without a backpacking pack so I might not be able to wait too long.

Why not wait until the X comes out. At the very least you can compare and choose the one you like best.

That makes the most sense. It’s all gonna boil down to the BF sale for me. I don’t think I’ll regret it whichever route I go, but 2lbs is a huge savings

As someone who bought the K3 instead of waiting for the K4, I regret that decision. Not sure if your situation would be similar.
