Nope. Wasn't really expecting a shipping notification but a reply to my email would have been great. Still holding out hope...

Ordered 6/1 and patiently waiting...for a response to my 3 emails!

I think I might have you all beat. I put in an order back in MARCH. Have not received an email back from Steve about shipment dates for close to a week. Won't be able to have much time to train with it or get it dialed in, if at all. Missed bear season already. Now caribou season is about to open up north this week and my other draw tag opens 10 August. Guess I'm SOL. Definitely rethinking my decision. To add to which, my buddy not only received his SG already but just ordered a Kifaru and should have it shipped w/in 3 weeks.

You can't say you have been waiting that long because they made it very clear they were not coming out until last week.

My bad for not clarifying. I ordered a 5500 back in March, not the new 2000. Was originally told early May'ish...then begining of June, then mid-June, and now maybe mid July according to the latest news release. So...yeah, all the guys who ordered in June and are getting impatient, I got them beat.

I did the same thing last year with a 3500. They updated the frame so it took longer to get every order out. They did the same thing this year as your 5500 will also come with the new for 2016 K2 frame. I'm sure the bags have been ready and in stock for a long time as that didn't change, but since the frame changed for all bags you are waiting on that component, the same as everyone who ordered earlier this month. I think I waited 3 months for mine last year and I was starting to get frustrated too, but I'm glad I made the purchase. I've been very happy with the pack layout and the way it handles heavy loads. When you look at the big picture it's good that they are listening to customer feedback and making incremental improvements each year, even if it does take a few months longer to get your pack. I'll have this pack for many years of use (assuming I don't trade it out for the combo of a 5500 and a 2000), so a few months, while an inconvenience, isn't the end of the world as long as they got things right. SG, Kifaru, etc. may have had shorter lead times when you ordered, but at this point I think it's a mute point as packs are clearly shipping now.

That sucks man. The 3500 and 5500 are also new, not just the 2000.

Were you trying to order a 2015 5500? You might have hit the timing at just the wrong time where 2015 5500s weren't available any longer but 2016 5500s weren't out yet.

I don't think the 3500 and 5500 bags are new.....didn't they just change the webbing size and put a new lid on them?

There's some new technology out you guys might wanna take a look into. It's called a telephone. You input some numbers, Steve answers, and you ask him what you want to know. Email might be convenient, but he's getting hundreds of them right now.

If you ordered 6/1, you ordered over a month too late. Also, I have been emailing Steve and his employees back at forth and they have been very responsive.

I ordered my 2016 K2 3500 in April, and just received it today. From day 1, Steve made it very clear that the pack would not ship until mid June. He was also very responsive on all my emails. When emailing a person in his position, I don't expect him to respond in 20 means, I expect to hear form him within that day or the next (assuming it is not the weekend), and he did just that. I am in love with that pack :)

I ordered a new 3500 a few days ago. I called twice with a few questions and there were answered right away. I also emailed Steve about adding a weapon carrier to my order to save the shipping cost. He responded within a few hours, I called to pay for it, and it was all a breeze. I was told the packs were ready to go and they just had to fulfill pre-orders first. I'm looking forward to trying mine out on my scouting trip at the end of the month.

Got my K2 3500 and accessories last night... love it! Really liking the updates to the frame and pack. I'll put a couple initial impressions down (have not carried much weight in it yet) and follow up with time.
Differences that I noticed:

Lid - I love the new lid... it addresses the fit and capacity issue I had with the last lid. The zipper is great on it as well. A+ there

Bag - I believe the bag is mostly if not all the same

Frame - This is where the bulk of the changes are.

1" Webbing - very good improvement - feels stouter and more comfortable on the shoulders. Load lifters seem to be improved by use of larger webbing

Larger diameter frame tubing - the frame has a significantly larger diameter frame, and appears to be around the sides and top (perimeter) - if you can picture an old school external frame, along those lines. It still pivots with the body, tho not as much, but feels MUCH sturdier - and slimmer - no issues with arms bumping the bag etc.

No more load stabilizer straps by the hips - I actually like this, I had them loose 99% of the time before anyway, and with the new frame, they don't feel missed

Frame behind head is more ergonomic - bigger cut out for head. This was one of my complaints about the last model and this is addressed. You can still touch the bar if you put your head all the way back, but glassing uphill and crawling while looking forward won't be an issue.

Padding - the padding is slightly thicker and larger on the lumbar pad, shoulder pads, and hip pads. I really like this as well. I feel like this frame "hugs" my hips better, and sits a little better. VERY comfy.

All in all, I give the upgrades an A+, takes a very good pack to an excellent pack in my opinion. My initial impression was that I was slightly more impressed with this pack then I even was with the 2015 upon first look/feel (which I was very impressed with as well). By that, I mean that it feel sturdier, and more comfortable. Love the crib as well - great idea that works great.

Only negative for me - which is actually a positive that I wouldn't want changed, is the amount of strapage - there are lots of them, and getting in and out can feel cumbersome. But that is the beauty and the price of versatility - and i HIGHLY recommend the exo strap keepers - this helps with this issue and keeps things tidy. Only think I would like to see added would be 2 zippers on the lid - so you can unzip either way, and possibly a "U" shaped main bag zipper (like the smaller bag) - the slit sipper is still very nice tho, and does 95% of what a "U" shaped zipper would do.

Steve knocked this update out of the park... it's work waiting for guys :)

Thanks Riley for the impressions. Still waiting for my K-2 frame and 2000 bag in coyote. I am planing on adding the 5500 bag also this summer for week long hunts. Had the 2104 version as well as 2015 version XO 3500's and seems like all the changes are making this a top notch pack right up there with the big rhino.

I got my 3500 Yesterday. This thing is awesome! Couldn't be happier with it. I loaded it up with a 50# mineral salt bag to get the adjustments down. Heading out for a full day off trail on the 4th.

Ordered a K2/2000, crib panel, and pouch all in foliage last night. Its replacing my inexpensive Alps Outdoorz pack which I just cannot get to fit comfortably. Was a pretty significant outlay of cash but, it should be something I can use for years.

K1- pretty sure I got back to you but if not you are by far and away the oldest pack order we have. Just really bad timing ordering when the 5500 Coyote went out of stock and us transitioning to the new K² frame. You'll have your pack by this weekend, the 5500 Coyote is the last bag to show up from our sew shop.

I appreciate everyone's patience, we are building and shipping as fast as we can over here. By the end of this week we should be caught up with orders placed up to June 15th. Next week orders after that should be shipping.

I do apologize to anyone who emails and I don't respond within a few hours, being a small company its hard to keep up with everything at all once. I was able to get 100% caught up with emails on Sunday though so there shouldn't be any outstanding.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Steve. I really appreciate that you are the one answering phones/emails and I'm sure its overwhelming at times. I check my email 20 times a day looking for tracking but I know it'll be worth the wait!

Thanks again,
Matt

Haven't recieved my order yet but I can say that Steve has went above and beyond answering all of my calls, emails, and text with the question I had . I even changed my order from MC to foliage and he went out of his way to help with that. I'm sure they are swamped in the office with all of the orders.

Very happy with the customer service and very excited to try out the new frame and bags.
