Ok guys I’m itchin to get a pack. I’m a beginner public land hunter and will be mostly doing my hunts as Day hunts from the truck. But would like the capability of doing day mode and a few overnighters if I had to. They all have the meat shelf style I like between the frame and bag. Which one would suit my needs better and I need to make sure I can take the meat and strap the head to it. Tough descision here

Well, that's what I would have recommended. By going that route you can always buy a bigger bag and put it on the same frame as you start doing multiday hunts. I've never used Mystery Ranch, but I've used most of the others including Exo and it's a very nice pack.

I just bought a MR Pintler for $300 from a seller on EBay that looks like they are going out of business. They only have foliage left but if you’re ok with that I think they have a few more in stock.

Edit: sorry just checked and they’re sold out now.

I have that pack and the 3500 bag I bought from them also. I find the 3500 compacts down enough I use it most times, but the 2000 is a great design too. The 3500 is a bit easier when packing a tripod and spotter, the 2000 is plenty big when I'm not. Congrats on a great pack.

I've never used an EXO but it looks like you made a great choice there. The reviews I've read on the 2000 sound about right for your intended use. let us know how it works for you.

I suffered through the same decision. I ended up with the 3500. Couldn’t be happier. I also have the 5500. If I left the spotter at home I would prefer the 2000 for day tripping. Either way you can’t go wrong. I’ll probably end up with the 2000 bag before hunting season as well.

Haha cool. I’m gonna do my first hunt on public land sun and Monday for some hog.
