thorogood makes slip on boots
Yeah I saw that, I think the loose nature of the slip on is what's causing some of my problems to be honest. My arches rumble like a muscle spasm at the end of the day. Sole insoles have helped, but I still get it.

What do you want the boots to do?

You mentioned wearing them to the office and tearing through them. Those seem contradictory to me.

I either wear my Lowa hunting boots or Muck, both with aftermarket insoles, depending on the weather. Neither would be "office" boots. If I'm not wearing those, I'm wearing Altra lone peak mids.

I work at a precaster as a production manager. My job can be 100% office or 50/50 office/in the plant. Not a business dress office. Besides that I have property and routinely am in the sticks after work or on weekends. I need something waterproof and supportive that's not going to get destroyed so I don't have to lug my beartooths with me all over in case I decide to go wander in the dirt a bit.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but a big fan of Keens, rocked a pair of targhees for 3 years until climbing trees and rucking tore them up. Upon their retirement, went with Kennetrek for hunting/rucking, but still use keen for work.

I wore Chippewa boots for a lot of years working on heavy equipment.A lot of boots wouldn't hold up to the oil and fuel in that environment. Tough getting broke in but were comfortable whether I was in the shop or out in the field.

Keens are what I used to have and mentioned in the original post. I tore through them too quick. The lacing points rotted/ripped out of them. I think the concrete dust at my facility expedited it.
