ESP brand hearing protection: very specific question

Newbie to Rokslide (but not to hunting) here. I have been using Soundgear Instant Fit hearing protection for several years. Overall they have been fine, but I have significant hearing loss (pre-dating the Instant Fits), and the amplification provided is borderline at best. Difficult to carry on a conversation, frequently slow to realize birds flushing because don't hear them, etc. I'm now in the market for custom fit models that provide more amplification and can be tailored to my hearing loss, and am focusing on ESP based on almost universally positive reviews I've read on multiple sites. Unfortunately these are many, many times more expensive than my current equipment, $1000-2500 depending on the model.

So my very specific question pertains to wind noise differences between the ESP models. The highest end (Apex) claims to have "dynamic" wind noise suppression vs "passive" in the lower models. I've read reviews from Apex users claiming no wind noise at all, but have not seen anyone who has had experience with both Apex and another model in significant wind. I bird hunt mainly on the plains, so wind is pretty much constant and 20+ mph not uncommon. I have had almost no wind noise with the Soundgear, so spending that much money and having wind noise issues would be pretty intolerable.

I realize the number of people having experience with multiple models is probably not high, but if anyone has any personal experience with this I would be extremely grateful to hear your experience. Thanks in advance.
