I finally stopped researching and placed an order for my first Kifaru bag. After spending months reading positive reviews on the products and glowing reccomendations about their customer service, I laid down some plastic and in 3 long weeks I'll see what all the fuss is about.

Ordered a 26" hunting duplex, composite stays, DT2, guide lid and a small belt pouch.

After struggling between a feature rich bag (like the dt2/dt1) or a stripped down bag I could customize with pouches I decided on the bag that already had the stuff I want on it. I love the bottom access for my Cimarron and quilt, really wanted a bladder pocket, and though many say I should have just gotten the DT1 I'm confident the 6400 cubic inches will be plenty for me.

Thanks for all the advice and I look forward to getting some blood on it this Sept chasing bears in NH.

Do you guys day hunt with these packs on?
I'm thinking of switching over to Kifaru but don't know what set up would be best for someone that already has a base camp set up and just needs around 3,000ci for day hunts and packing game out?

I do. I run a nomad with no lid and a side pocket below. Plenty of space. When you kill, pull out your grab it and attach and you have the best meat hauler around!

Take a look at the mountain warrior as well. I find it to be the ideal size, especially when it is colder out and more layers are called for. Nice to be able to access from the top or panel access as well.
