By the way, talked to EE customer service and was told too bad. A little bummed.
Specifically what did you ask and what did they say?

I bought on sale a brooks range mountaineering "cloak" which is more like a blanket than anything. I have played around with it and decided to use it as an over layer in freezing temps over a sleeping bag, or it works fine this time of year standalone. I just cant justify experimenting with a real quilt for $300 when I know a bag works for me.

Sorry to hear it wasnt what you hoped

They said that for $20 shipping and labor they will add down to it at $10 per oz for the 850 fill.

Like Chris said, weigh it. What pad were you using ? And, were you using the straps? And we're you under a tarp, with a lot of air movement?

If I used my 30* Revelation with the straps and one of my insulated pads in the fifties, I think I'd start melting.

I sleep warm and use a silk liner to try to keep my funk off my quilts, but it seems to me that EE's temp ratings are pretty true for me. I've slept comfortably under the 30* in the mid to upper twenties. My 10* kept me toasty down to 13*-15* several times.
