Someone talk me out of getting an EE Rev Pro 0* quilt. Going to be in Colorado 2nd rifle sleeping in a SO 6p with a stove. I have heard the West Elks can get very cold. I currently have a Feathered Friends 20* and a NeoAir Xtherm. Not a cold sleeper but will be coming directly from a very warm climate. The FF is pretty close to temp rating. Thanks for any help.

I'd just add a Woobie to my bag. Use it as a top quilt inside my WM 30# bag and was toasty warm. Came in handy during my morning coffee and evening dinner too.

Yeah add a bunch of weight you don't need with a woobie.... Buy the EE quilt. You won't be sorry

I'd take the EE....I'll be taking the Rev X 850 0 degree for that exact season this year. It's not my first time out there and while temps can be mild...they can get cold fast and the nights are always chilly. If it's 30 at night just use it vented as a blanket. I'd rather be a too toasty than too cold.

Just to be fair, I'd not feel under equipped with that FF one bit.

One year during the middle of October my temp gauge froze up and stayed at -15 so have no idea what the actual lows got to. I froze in a wall tent with a -30 Slumberjack bag and the wood stove going all night. One morning my cousin shot a cow around 0730 and by noon it was just about frozen solid. Gosh I don't miss those days at all.

Has anyone gone with the 900fp hyper dry? Its another $100 for that over the 850 dry down option. The weight difference is about 1oz.

My EE 0* (last year's model) is <2lbs, so that would be my choice vs. adding an overbag to your FF (this is how I ended up with the EE in the first place!). I'm a cold sleeper and like to go conservative on bag ratings after too many freezing nights in 20-25* bags. 2nd season could have really cold nights (<15), so your tipi won't be that warm once the stove goes out, unless you have someone that is willing to feed it all night. I did some winter camping last year at 12k in an Arctic Oven, and I was still happy I had the 0* since I was up against the wall on the downhill side of the tent, it got super cold by early morning.
