I know 3 different people who were car jacked in the last 2 months in Minneapolis and I don’t know that many people down there. (I’m in rural MN.) I will not be bringing my family to Minneapolis anytime soon. Car jackings are up like 3-400%.

Northern MN is awesome place to be in the summer.
Have to edit my post, my cousin wasn’t officially “car jacked”, he had his work van cleaned out while on a 20 min service call, in broad daylight.

If you enjoy paddling canoes you can take a day trip into the BWCA and it's beautiful wilderness you can rent canoes at various outfitters we have gone with Sawbill a few times it's awesome just don't forget a headnet that time of the year.

Big talk coming from a guy who lives in SE MN lol. Turn off CNN brother, it'll make a world of difference for you!

If you avoided the right/wrong parts of MPLS for a few weeks you never would have known the difference. Dont freak the guy out by telling him to avoid MN for stupid reasons such as that one.

Big talk coming from a guy that's new to Rokslide.

MN has a lot to offer, but I sincerely hope his trip and the verdict don't fall in the same week/month. Pretty hard to have a good time with your family if there's 5 miles of buildings on fire and another $500 million in damages a few miles away.

WCB, I'm confused... the media told me it was a "peaceful protest".

I'm not sure what you're referring to-- the media told us all about the past "peaceful protests". Shouldn't we expect more peace and love in the future?

HAHAHA no doubt right?

Maybe...I was wrong...it must have been the glow of peace and love and lighters whilst the peaceful crowds joined hand and hand singing Kumbaya. Or probably the glow of construction lights helping each other rebuild their neighbor hood businesses.

Wait it was actually probably the Mayor of Minneapolis with his night light on crying himself to sleep or checking what businesses paid there license fees before being able to rebuild their burnt down destroyed lives...either way I am sure that I am wrong. hahaha

Minneapolis is a fricking cesspool and the voters are getting exactly what they voted for. I am sure they are happy there 27,000,000 of tax money went to Flyod's Family just to avoid more riots and destruction. Now Target is puling out (they say due to the lack of need of the space for employees) I'm sure a tax break moving out of MPLS and the fact they don't have to worry about their offices burning in the future can't be the reason.

To the OP...generally everywhere outside of the cities and direct suburbs is a great place. hope you have a fun time while here.

Sorry this thread devolved.. I would recommend the Mississippi for walleye fishing, to me I was always bored fishing lakes in WI and MN. Everyone knows the spots and if they ain’t hitting that’s it. Mississippi walleye fishing is a lot more nuanced and there is some amazing “back country” to experience in the backwaters. North shore of MN is busy now like everything but is still great. Amazing smoked fish and pasty shops up there and some good hiking along with canoeing. In Burnsville/ the cities I have no interest besides restaurants and bars, no other reason to be there.

Come a little further East to Hudson, WI and Stillwater, MN. Two nice river towns but WI will be more relaxed in regards to restaurants etc with the pandemic craziness still going on. If schedules work out, I’d maybe be able to get you on the St Croix for some bowfishing.

I'm from the south metro. I'd recommend a day trip between Redwing and Winona on 61. The minnesota bluff country is very beautiful. If you have kids, there is a tubing service out of Welch. We'll take family there when they are in town.
