Thats not what is going on here, Only one portion of the property is fences. Lets say it was a perfect square, only one side of 4 is fenced. i think they want to keep the elk there. Just a guess, or they think people trespass off the road, which def never happened before they moved in and built a mansion.

Didnt take the forum members lack of concern for whats going on here. I guess to hell with migration routes all together!

Perhaps they are building the fence properly then.

To deter wildlife from entering an area, you should fence sections at a time, so they learn to detour around it. So it might be they will work on completely Fencing in the area later. With vineyards, deer will jump an 8' fence if they want. If you put up sections at a time, it trains them to walk around it. Eventually, they are learning to walk around the whole thing. If it's some place they really want to be, and it's all immediately fenced, a lot of times they will insist on still trying to go into(over the fence).

It reads like you are just frustrated with the new neighbor, trust me, I get it. I hate seeing things change around me, but I don't have enough to buy it all up.

And I found with more ground comes more neighbors, more boundaries, and more problems.

Biggest problem with migration routes isn't a mile of fence, it's highways and whole subdivisions that go in.
