Elk Options This Year

What are a fellas options this late in the year for elk hunting this fall? I know I can try to find a land owner voucher for a tag in NM. Any other states have that type of option? Would prefer not to go OTC in Colorado but I know that option exists as well. Was supposed to be having our first child in October so I didn't apply for anything but points this year but unfortunately those circumstances have changed and now I've got no Western trip lined up either and plenty of free time during hunting season. Would be tougher to get things together in time for an Archery hunt so rifle would be my first option, if I even have many options...

Living in Austin, I'd be stoked for an OTC CO elk hunt.......as long as it was archery.

You could check Colorado's leftover list if you don't want to go OTC. Although anything still leftover at this point is unlikely to be appreciably "better" than an OTC tag.

Leftover (Remaining) and Reissued Licenses

Limited licenses that weren't issued in the primary or secondary draws go on the Leftover List. Reissued licenses also go onto the list. These are available for purchase in person, online or at sales agents.

I'd love a bull tag but completely understand that beggars can't be choosers. Finances will probably have a little influence in this decision as well.
