Elk experiences with 6.5 PRC and 156 EOL

Dude.

I appreciate the effort, but read the post. Help me understand where I said he didn’t have 100% faith in the cartridge?

Between the two of us we’ve notched quite a few elk tags. I’m in the lead with numbers but he’s got me beat with size.

It‘s the innanet and all and everyone has something to say, I get it, but I’m just looking for stories like nmarchr or brockel.

I think the point is, your quote says it’s “borderline for elk”. Which is objectively not true inside of 700 yards(at least).

Congrats on the positive feedback for the 6.5 PRC and it's lethality on elk. Just for laughs I think it's hilarious that everyone missies the point that shot placement is always key. I was on a UT elk hunt and heard horror stories regarding the 300 PRC with Berger 215's point on shoulder shots around 900 yard ranges. Watched a couple of videos of the same shots. Flattened the elk, only to have them get up and run off. Never recovered. Bullet blew up and obviously didn't penetrate. Point is SHOT placement.
HA! I’m calling bs on a 215 blowing up and not penetrating. I shoot a 300rum and have killed a bull at 60yds with the 215 at 3100fps and it never blew up. It exited, in fact, just like every other elk or buck I’ve shot with them out to 605yds.
