Elk bullet for 308 backup rifle

Thanks for all the suggestions. Confession time. I had forgotton that the 150 speers were hot cor, I thought was thinking they were btsp like the 180s I had. (obviously I haven't loaded these in a while). I think the hot cor's are going to be my choice. Should give a respectable MPBR for a backup rifle and be tough enough to hold together if I get a close in shot.

My 308s love the 168ttsx. And game absolutely hate them. Have taken whitetails out to 496yds n elk at over 450. They are bad medicine and very accurate.
