Think I have my mind made up on which optics setup to upgrade to but curious to see some poll results. Use case: muleys, elk, bear, etc., in eastern WA, eastern OR, ID, MT, CO, WY, UT, etc.

Current system is Zeiss Conquest 10x42's and a Sig Kilo 1600 BDX. Spotter is and will remain a Swaro STC.

Went back and forth on something similar.
If you Archery hunt probably the handheld.
If you mainly rifle hunt go with the Ranging Binos.

Pretty sure if you can spot an animal with the ELs you could spot them with the ranging Binos.

Tagging along on the response's. I have owned pretty much all the RF binos at some point and the only ones that I was happy to glass with off a tripod for extended times was the EL Range TAs. Not contesting all the benefits of RF binos but I typically don’t hunt that big of country that would require 15x binos..so the question is it worth owning the Revics but needing to carry another pair of tripod glass or just going with 10x NLs and a separate LRF.

Had the opportunity to check out a pair of EL 10x42's and the BLR10b's in the field in Idaho over Memorial Day weekend. Both are optically superior to my Zeiss Conquest 10x42's for sure. The warm color pallet on the EL's was very distinct.

I'm going with the EL/BR4 setup.

Called Cody with GoHunt and he gave me a really solid deal (better than military discount on a couple sites checked) on the optics package and threw in a free Aziak clamp for the Swaros. As usual, great experience with those guys.

My glassing setup :

-Swaro EL Range 10x42
-Swaro STX 85 Spotter
-Slik Tripod w/VA-5 Fluid head

Does everything I need…the only issue would be early season October deer and hot weather. I only pack spotter to field judge/digi scope, and heat waves distort the hell out of the spotter. Normally by elk season, (Nov 1) it’s cool enough, not an issue. I have been kicking around getting Swaro STC to “lighten load” on long backpack hunts, though.

I don't have experience with those binoculars but beware of battery life in the br4. I put a fresh battery in last weekend and by Sunday it was dead. Only had about 20 ranges on it. Other then that it works great. I don't know if there is something wrong with mine or if they are all like that.
