Was sold on just spending for the k4 5000, but realistically the majority of my use will be for whitetail with a couple weekend backpack hunts in national forest in VA, and then day hunts on my yearly elk hunt with maybe a few days spiked out. Looks like with Black Friday sales the modframe and 3500 bag would come out to about $355 vs close to $600 on the exo assuming a 20% discount. Given I’m not doing anything too crazy it feels like modframe is the right choice here (plus the modularity seems like a plus given the majority of the time I won’t be using it for backpacking). Anyone have experience with both? Is the exo worth it vs modframe given the lack of extended backpack hunts?

I can’t speak to the k4 but I use my modframe at least 10 days out of each month for work and it is fantastic. Can’t go wrong with the modframe and really most of the EMOD stuff

I ordered a frame and pack (Vapor series) from Eberlestock and sent it back. I didn’t care for the bag or how the frame fit me.

I dug into all brands of packs and eventually ended up with an Exo K3 4800. It fit me great based on their size chart and the organization potential with the Exo bag is much better. I’ve had the K3 for three years and just upgraded to the K4 5000.

I am using it for whitetail day hunts and also for hiking/backpacking trips. I can’t recommend it enough, honestly.

I have the f1 frame and a couple batwings. I was using it for whitetail but I find it a bit clunky. I will still use it when moving my big blind strapped to it. I still think its a great pack. But I prefer something smaller and quieter chasing whitetails on day hunts.
