I'm sure this has probably been answered before, but I didn't see exactly what I was looking for when I searched.

I am taking a bonsai trip to CO for an otc elk hunt due to having to cancel other plans because of the border closure.

I currently shoot Magnus black hornet 100gr heads. I recently read on here about a couple failures with them so I am kinda nervous about sticking with them.

I don't have much time so taking a bunch of time to tune a new head would be tough.

Anybody have a recommendation for a good head that tunes easy, or should I just stick with the magnus since I know it shoots good. Thanks a bunch.

I would go with a 2 blade design, they seem to tune up easier for me at least. Cut throat, iron will, day six, kudu... great reviews on all of them. I use the cutthroat personally, but I shoot a heavy, slow arrow so just about anything tunes up easily for me.

I second Exodus. The swept blade version if legal (check they violate the barbed tip laws). Otherwise, full blade.

Otherwise, the smallest head you feel good about. Standard Slick Trick, Iron Will, etc.

The larger the blade, the harder it could be to tune.

Exodus, Slicktrick, and Black Hornets are all good quality broadheads. All of them can get the job done and all of them can fail for one reason or another. If your already dialed in with the Black Hornets I’d stick with them. Having confidence with your shot placement is the main thing.

Iron Will. Bill is a stand-up guy and his company and broadheads are top notch.

Stick with the Magnus! I think I read one of those threads you were talking about and noticed at least one of those “failures” was a solid shoulder shot...yeah blame the broadhead...

Budget - Exodus (swept flew the best for me)
Iron wills for second choice if you can afford them. I think they really shine with the upgraded collars and hit system (I’ve bent an brass insert in the past) the collars make the arrows bullet proof.

Exodus. I prefer the full-blades. Haven't had any issues with flight, ever.

The BH is a great head. I don't mess with my set up this close to the season.

trophy taker A-tacs have consistently been the most forgiving for me followed by muzzy trocar and then QAD exodus.

Thank you for all the replies!! As a few of you have recommended I think I'll stick with the black hornet. I know it shoots well and season is fast approaching so I think my time would be better spent just practicing more with the black hornet and making a good shot.

Thanks again for all the replies! Now to start narrowing down where I'm going to hunt!
