I've never bothered with the BAR's and I've been using HIT's in all my .204" arrows for the past 12 years.
I was hoping it would help my broadheads spin better. Just built 6 of the 300 match grades with 50 grains of brass and they don't seem to spin too well. The 260s I did spun great with the standard HIT and IW collar. Not sure what is happening, is it possible to bend the HIT when removing the 25 grain portion?

I shot the bar adapters for a while. I didn’t really see much advantage. They fit loose and are too short to provide much support.

As far as not spinning, did you spin the arrows before inserting the hit? I bought a dozen match grade and had 3-4 that wouldn’t spin. I was able to cut the wobble out of all but 2 of them. Easton sent me 2 replacements that were also suspect on the 001 straightness.

If you grab the 75/50 with 2 sets of pliers they pop off so easily I can’t imagine bending them.

Yeah I spun a couple before I always cut equal amounts off back and front. Also was first time I used Easton Epoxy, squared them up with the Firenock square. May try to take a little more carbon off although I am pretty convinced they are square.

You should be using BAR 6 not BAR 5 on an Axis 300. Chart is right here: https://eastonarchery.com/product/broadhead-alignment-rings-bar/

I was under the impression the BAR is mainly for a flat surface for the broadhead to align to when screwed in and just for easier arrow removal...
Dude thanks I got the order changed, only reason I thought of using one is because I heard Dudley say on a podcast that the BAR helped broadheads spin better.

Given how Axis align the BH, the end is probably not square. You can slowly spin them against you finger tip and feel any high spots.

I don't know how "adding" another component to the mix would help anything spin better. Every arrow I've ever built with HIT's has spun perfectly at that point. I've used all kinds of different BH's on mine (fixed and mechanical) and they all tighten up square to the shaft, so not sure why they wouldn't spin true......unless it's the BH itself.

Yeah could be that. My old Slick Tricks look like they spin well but they are so short it could not be noticible. My Thorns have a wobble but they are super long.

Interesting...my Nockon 300 shafts came with BAR 5 rings. I have some BAR 6 on hand as well and in my opinion the BAR 5 fit much better. Here is a photo of a BAR 5 & 6 on the shaft as reference...also check out the chart on the Nockon website, it lists BAR5 for a 300 shaft? Are these shafts different than a standard Axis?

The Nock On Axis is a Match Grade Axis vs a standard Axis. Not sure if that would make a difference.

Probably would be best to try out both and see if there are any difference and obviously go with the better performing one.

This is so confusing, anyhow I was able to mix and match my Thorn broadheads to specific shafts and was able to get 5 out of the 6 spinning very well. I have no idea why this works. I found a BAR at the shop and it definitely seems to help a few shafts. Unsure why this works as well.

Clear as mud . . . See below. I can confirm that number 6 fits the .300 realtrees. That’s what I shoot.

Easton 5MM axis match grade .300 - #5 BAR

Easton 5MM axis .300 - #6 BAR

Easton Axis realtree .300 - #6 BAR

I've shot the Match Grade .300 and .340 spine AXIS and the BAR 6 is the right fit for the .300s. It must have something to do with the NockOn version. I put a BAR 5 on one of my .300 spine shafts and had to pull it off with needle nose pliers which ruined the BAR.

Great I have the 6s on the way hopefully it helps, I am still not sure how it helps alignment vs the carbon, but the one I was playing around with seemed to help some of the more stubborn shafts.

i have a dozen number 5 BAR I’ve had for years and never used other than to test fit a few. If the 6’s don’t work let me know and I’ll send these your way.
