Hunted elk for many years all over E OR. Regular gear will work. Terrain can vary from high desert and rolling hills to very steep rough stuff. Nearly every unit has some easier and some harder terrain. Plenty of elk in places.

I will not speak on Oregon, but you could no pay me to hunt eastern Washington elk as a non resident.
