Eastern Montana Cool encounter

never knew they were there, very cool
Not exactly a lot of them. A good population on the Yellowstone near the ND boarder, but in most of SE MT it is often years between sightings, but this year is and exception. I have lived here for nearly 60 years, spent countless hours in the hills and this one is the first I have seen here. Less than a 100 yards from my house.

Nevada just issued it's first moose tag.

Nevada and moose aren't something you think about together.

But, I suspect, we'll be seeing more of this as wolves pressure them more in their more normal regions.

You mean winter ticks, right? Because obviously if ticks surviving the winter is the problem we move farther south

Just yesterday saw a Moose in Nevada Ruby Mountains. It was pretty high up at 8000’ elevation.
