Anybody had the fortune to hunt Elk in KY and also out west? Do they behave the same? Or similar? Drew a KY tag in 14, hunted the December archery season. From a white tail background I was super surprised at the movement you could get away with compared to trying to put the slip on a deer, but always wondered if the elk here were just less stressed because there’s nothing here big enough to eat em. And I’m assuming probably less pressured. There were a few times we crossed some pretty open stuff within 2-300 yards of some elk, if we got picked off they’d stare for a minute and then calm down. I couldn’t believe it,a deer would’ve stomped and blew and run everything out of the county. Anybody have some insight on that?
