I received notification that the xmid solid preorders should be shipping this week.

I've got an xmid2 coming.

I ordered an Xmid2 Solid as well, only email I got was 7/14 saying it is "shipping soon, specifically we believe it will be shipped by the end of the month". Did you get something more specific than that?

I had inquired earlier this week right before the email you got was sent out because I have a trip coming up and was wondering if I'd get to use it.

Dan responded and said they're ahead of schedule and they should be shipped this week.

I'm looking forward to your reviews. I have a Tarptent of similar design with solid interior, and am curious how the Durston's perform.

Dan Durston seems like a knowledgeable and helpful guy. I've learned a lot from his posts at different sites.

My Xmid 2 showed up yesterday. Unfortunately I don’t have any time to play with it for a few weeks so I just chucked it in my camping tote and called it good.

Pitched a tent in the backyard. First things first, super easy to set up. Stake out a taught rectangle, extend poles, done.

Today it’s 90* on its way to 100* with somewhat damp lawn meant this thing got swampy fast just pitching the fly. By the time I got the inner in place it was unbearable inside.

I’m a bit worried the solid is going to be too warm/stuffy for “normal” summer camp conditions even if you just pitch the inner but I wanted a tub that came up higher than the mesh inner version. I’m sure it will be really nice when the conditions go cold and sideways though plus gives more privacy.

Pad is a Exped Symmat UL Winter LW (77.6x25.6) so while *technically* two of these should fit side by side because the inner measures 52”wide, it would be very snug once you add bags/quilts. Both people would be up against the walls. Two normal width pads would probably fit fine. Added a pic of the Exped with a Nemo Switchback which would work ok. Go floorless with just the fly and there is plenty of room.

Anyways, a few pictures:

Any Canadians seeing movement on these shipments yet? Mine seems to be held up at the "label created" stage in Illinois.

I have the non solid 1p. I'm ready to try it out. I am curious to see how it compares to the solid.

“USPS Awaiting Item” Hoping it’s not lost. Been at that status since July 21.
