Duplex frame-- anyone run a 24 over a 26??

I have the 24" frame with a DT2. I'm 5'10" w/19" torso. I've found the 24" stays to be a good compromise between lift and ease of movement through brush. For me, the pack spends most of the year loaded 50 lbs or under (backpacking, day hunting for whitetails) and the 80-100lb pack-out, for which the 26" stays really shine, is a far less frequent occurrence. When I spoke with Kifaru prior to the purchase, they recommended 26" stays if heavy hauling was going to make up a significant portion of the pack's expected duty, but that 24" would give plenty of lift for more normal loadouts. I've found this to be true. Another considertion for me was that I can swap the Duplex frame's 24" stays into my Late Season in place of the stock airline-compatible 22's if I want more shoulder lift in the smaller pack. I originally purchased composite stays for both the LS and DT2, but had some pressure points on the LS, so swapped out for aluminum. Once I found out how radically different my "perfect bend" was for the LS, I immediately ordered a set of 24" aluminum stays for the Duplex frame to copy the pattern and increase comfort.

I'm on the fence regarding which pack I want (exo, sg, or kifaru) and in considering a kifaru, frame size is the biggest factor for me. I'm short and stocky (shorter torso) so the 22 or 24 make the most sense. Lots of good info on here, but imo buying the bigger frame based on the potential for resale, rather than what's going to preform the best, seems a little ridiculous. It's an awful lot of money to spend in hopes of potential resale. Just my .02

The 24" frame will allow you to run any kifaru bag. The 22" frame will limit your choices.

You can be 5'-5" but have a longer torso so don't just go by height. They want to know your torso length. I am 5-8 and my torso is 20" so I want the 24-26 Duplex . Will probably get the 24

Just got off the phone w/Kifaru... since I have a 19.5" torso, they recommend the 26" duplex. Keep in mind I am only only 5-7 to 5-8 I asked what the cut off as far as torso length goes for the 24" and he said 18". Guess I got short legs hahahaha So with that said I will be getting the 26".

CouseAz yea due to my torso length more so than height I went with what will be best for hauling elk- the 26"

I'm heading to AZ to work in Jan and will be archery muley hunting down around the Quartszite area. Are you in Tucson ?
I don't think Ill be running the new Kifaru as I am now saving for a good bag to go with my new Duplex frame. One part at a time I guess.
