Does anyone in here have a pair of Duluth Pack chaps? I’ve been looking at getting a pair of Filson chaps but saw that they aren’t made in the US anymore. I started looking for something similar and stumbled on Duluth Pack. They look like a solid company and all handmade in the US. Doesn't look like it’s a hunting company though so I wonder if they miss the mark.

Any thoughts?

Dan’s Chaps are made in the US, have a variety of styles and are a hunting company. While I recognize some prefer old school products, waxed cotton canvas compared with cordura type fabrics makes little sense to me ie water and odor retention, ability to wash, durability. I would like to see someone making quiet chaps out of an ultrasuede type fabric, available in the equine world but not hunting. I currently use a pair of Dunns cordura chaps I bought from the old Nite Lite coon hunting supply co 30 yrs ago, still waterproof and less noisy after the long break in.

Frost River makes chaps that would be comparable to Duluth Pack. I have looked at both, haven't got any yet though so I can't give you a review.

I have a pair of Boyt Harness that were all canvas, but not waxed. They lasted a couple seasons before starting to show much wear.

The noise is my major issue with those types of I get they probably function better, but the noise and “plasticy” feel are just a big turn off for me.

Yes those Frost River ones look about the same as the Duluth. I’ve looked at Boyt but unfortunately they don’t make much in the US anymore either.
