www.rimrockranch.com These are old friends of mine who've been doing this a long time.....and they're good at it. Located between Cody WY and Yellowstone park on the north folk of the Shoshone river. Great livestock, excellent meals and staff.

I wrangled and packed two seasons at Turpin Meadow Ranch on the north end of Jackson Hole in the early '90s. Great location because it's located on the edge of a wilderness area. You could ride out of the ranch and go all the way to the Yellowstone River and beyond.

It's changed hands a couple of times since I was there so I can't say how things run there now. But it's still a great location. Probably the best located dude outfit in Jackson Hole, IMO.

We went to paradise guest ranch a few times when we were kids (30 yrs ago). It was pretty cool. Worth considering.

Goosewing near Jackson in Wyoming was fantastic.

Good location. I drove by there just the other day. If you're going to Jackson Hole, I prefer Turpin Meadow, perhaps because I worked there, but Goosewing is certainly nice.

I think a wilderness pack trip could be a pretty incredible experience with an off season outfitter.

I liked pack trips better than guiding hunters. The experience was low key and enjoyable because people were going for the country and the campfire, whereas when guiding hunters there was that pressure/expectation/want/need to put the hunter on an animal.
