Props on the miner band, I have one also total fluke thing....

I know a couple purist that say the current 85's don't sound like the one's from days gone by.... even though haydels denies any change at all. Not sure if there's any truth to it

What calls do y’all use? Who’s on your lanyard?

I use an ECHO pure meat and an old Duck Commander cut down reacher that is at least 25 years old and probably sounds more like a duck than anything I've ever blown . I also have been using a call that was given to me called a Valor. Starting to like it more and more.

mine was a super old bird also (although not as old as yours), little band w/ no scripture verse on it (at the time they were doing verse's on the big "resident" geese they were banding but for some reason their little geese & ducks didn't have it, now both do I believe). I'll see if I can upload a photo.

I have to ask..... did you kill a jack miner band all the way over on the oregon coast?

Just pics of some October duck hunting. Waterfowl is my thing, myself and the pup try and hunt everyday of the season I’m not chasing antlers or it’s raining horizontally. It’s nice having Oct thru March off from work.

Had a good teal opener last weekend. Super fortunate to have some fresh birds in the freezer. I can't wait to shoot big ducks though. I'll be in Idaho chasing elk when our main duck season opens but hopefully we'll score early so we can head home and shoot some big ducks.

More geese here than anything, but sometimes a decent mixed bag hunt. Mostly mallards, a few black duck. Unfortunately our limits have been cut pretty good. 2 mallard, was a single black duck but now two as well.

Been using RNT for 20 yrs (original, short barrel, daisy cutter, timber hawg and most recently mondo) but a lares hybrid might be the do-all if I was only going to have 1.

Lares don't stick like rnt's, but I do like a well tuned rnt dc.

I started with an RNT Timbre and liked it. The only RNT I have anymore is a short barrel that sounds pretty decent. I had a Lares T1 for a while and it sounded good also.

We get a few every year. Real pretty but they are not close to Green Wings for taste. They're starting to classify them more like Spoonbills tha Greenwings.

Duck calls jjlares hybrid, teal whistle goose calls GK COC with ote guts, saunders Heavy with 12 year old red guts, Riceland speck call, saunders bc. Minima for cacklers.

Rolling into year #2 of E Oregon waterfowl. Hunting this side of the cascades for ducks is always an interesting experience. At least there's plenty of geese!

Nice timber hunt. I"m trying to find some decent guided or unguided flooded timber hunts this year. Any recs would be great. Not looking for your honey hole...
